“The Purpose of
The Christian Community”
You are warmly invited to come to The Christian Community in Chicago, Illinois on Thursday, May 14 (5pm Welcome) through lunch on Saturday, May 16th. There will be a gathering for our treasurers from 2:00 – 5:00 pm on Thursday and an Affiliates gathering on Saturday from 2-4:30pm.
The Annual Delegates’ Meeting provides a setting in which we can take a look at ourselves as individuals, as members of congregations, and as a North American region. It’s a place to reflect, to connect, to seek guidance and inspiration for the road ahead. Together, let’s remind ourselves of who we are and what we are doing in this movement for religious renewal. How are our congregations? Where are our new and budding congregations? Where are our affiliates? What is our regional board focusing on; in what direction is it heading?
In the midst of our time together we will also fulfill one of our regional requirements; we will convene the Annual General Meeting where one delegate from each of our 15 congregations will vote to approve the Central Fund’s budget and elect or re-elect regional board members.
We will celebrate the services, listen to each other, take guided walks, share meals, and deepen our connection to one another and to our beloved Christian Community. We look forward to seeing you in Chicago!
Historically, congregations are expected to carry the cost of sending one voting delegate, and the hosting congregation has striven to provide accommodations for all who need them. We are really excited in that we anticipate a larger number of participants this year, but the ability to provide hosted accommodations is limited. Please register early so we can accommodate as many as possible!
